Axel and Marleen were warm and welcoming the minute we walked thru the door. Dinner was delicious and by far the best meal we had in Italy! The first course was pasta with shrimp which was nice and spicy followed by delicious grilled fish, vegetables and a tasty roasted potatoes. Dessert was delectable - ice cream, danish and fresh figs! There was enough food for a party of 8 and of course wine throughout the meal, I had my first taste of limoncello with Axel and Marleen! The ambiance was great, we ate on the patio surrounded by candlelight and overlooking the garden and fish pond! We had the pleasure of meeting their lovely daughter Maya who hung out a little and had dinner with us. Thank you Axel and Marleen for an unforgettable evening of delicious food and enlightening conversation!

Axel and Marleen were amazing hosts. The garden setting was a delight. The first course of cheese and meats was beautifully displayed and served with Prosecco. The main course featured a selection of perfectly grilled meats along with potatoes, peppers and a fresh salad. Axel made an amazing tiramisu for dessert. We enjoyed lovely wine as well as limoncello. Conversation flowed as easily as the wine. A delightful evening. An additional plus was their teenage daughter. So interesting to hear about her life. What a wonderful way to end our trip to Italy. Dining with Axel and Marleen, and Maya, was like going to a friend's house. We were comfortable from the moment Marleen opened the door to invite us in. We dined in their lovely garden and had wonderful conversation and a delightful dinner. We started with Prosecco, ended with Limoncello, wine in the middle, and had 3 kinds of meat on the grill, potatoes, peppers, salad with braciole, I believe, and homemade bread. A just right fruit plate with raspberry coulis, and mascarpone was the dessert. I understand the menu changes as to what is fresh in the markets, but based on this one, you could not go wrong. I waited a long time to have our first Eat With experience. It was well worth the wait.
