Como será la experiencia en casa de Claudia
Eatwith was a concept that I hadn’t tried before and decided to give it a shot when visiting Barcelona. Booking and communication with Claudia was a breeze and our group of four had a good feeling about the upcoming experience when we made our way to easy-to-find area in Gracia. We were first to arrive, soon followed by an American family of four, all adults. We didn’t know in advance whether it would be just us or other guests as well. Claudia and her friend Lorenzo gave us all a warm welcome, and their friends were already playing some live music for us. If anyone from our party had any apprehensions about sitting down with perfect strangers, worries were soon gone. Before we knew it, it was already midnight. Great time was had by all as we enjoyed Claudia’s delicious cooking and each others’ company, comparing our notes about traveling in Barcelona and in general, discussing reputations and stereotypes of our countries and even some current state of world affairs. Our whole experience with Claudia, her friends and the good energy from the other guests gives me confidence to consider similar dinners in other locations as well. Definitely a moment to cherish.
We had the most amazing night of food, drinks, music and singing, with a fantastic group of people!! I recommend this experience to anyone visiting Barcelona! Claudia made the most delicious meal (we are still talking about your eggplant chips!!) Thank you to all who hosted and to the wonderful musicians for the very fun jam session! It was a night to remember and we thank you for welcoming us Canadians so warmly into your home :)
What a delightful evening! Really the highlight of our trip. This was our first eatwith experience and it exceeded our expectation. Claudia was a wonderful host, the food- every course- was delicious. The music added such a nice ambience to the whole evening. I highly recommend.
What a night! Claudia and Lorenzo were fabulous hosts! Our party consisted of my husband and me and our young adult daughter and son. We were greeted at the door with hugs and kisses and a glass of sangria. The other four guests were a group of four work colleagues from Finland. They seemed as open and intrigued about the evening as we were and proved to be excellent dinner companions, as were Claudia and Lorenzo: articulate, great conversationalists and funny! The dinner started with an appetizer of fried eggplant that was to die for! Then out came the pumpkin rissoto, so creamy and flavorful! Just when we thought we were done eating, out came the cod montadito! The presentation was beautiful and it was delish! Even my husband and son, who had never eaten cod and don't particularly like seafood, ate every morsel of it! Every course came out with a different wine which perfectly complemented the dish. And to top it off, we had crema catalana for dessert! Every dish was delicious and the portions were big. We had wonderful conversation and laughed all night long. Oh, I almost forgot to mention the live music! Erico on guitar and Basha singing (spelling?) provided a lovely ambience to the evening. We went in thinking this would be a two hour dinner, but we didn't leave until midnight, four hours after we had arrived! This evening was one of thighlights of our visit to Barcelona!
